Hotel and Spa, Xiamen (China)

at Layan, 2013-2017

In charge of all loose furniture, fixture and equipment design with almost one hundred different items, this was my biggest project so far.

Nestled on Xiamen’s magnificent oceanfront, The Pushang Hotel and Spa draws its inspiration from water, light, the interplay of shadows and the famed stones of Fujian province.

The key pieces designed for this hotel are the open-sided lounge chair and the dining chair with floating backrest.

@ The Puli Hotel and Spa, Shanghai (China)

at Layan, 2016

Recently awarded two Michelin Stars, the Phénix eatery and bar lies on the second floor of the renowned Puli in Shanghai, designed by Layan in 2008.

Over a decade since its initial opening, the management decided to rejuvenate the hotel - starting with its restaurant.

Responsible for all furniture I also was involved in the general interior design and some selected light fittings.

Flagship Store, Shanghai (China)

at Layan, 2014

In 2014 Layan was asked to design a new overall store concept for Taiwanese fashion brand Shiatzy Chen.
With the flagship store in Shanghai being the first to open its doors, Tokyo and Paris followed about a year later.
The loose furniture I designed for these projects were shelving units, display cabinets in all shapes and sizes, sofas, coffee and side tables.
